
Philippine population averages around 93 million within five years
Based on Philippine Society News(?) Jan 5 report, the national statistics office projects that the Filipino population would exceed 93 million in the next five years.
The statistic is based on the 2000 national population increase report, which states that the average 15 to 49 year old woman would give birth to 3 to 4 children by the year 2010.
The analysis of the statistic office shows that by 2040, the scope of fertility and growth average would drop to 2 to 3 children.
Forecast also said that Filipino women would live 5.5 years longer than the Filipino male.
The neational statistic office secretary said that the basis of the 2004 year end report is based on the average data colleted from the 2000 population report.
