Goodbye Blogspot

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue writing in this space. I haven't been posting much for the past few years. I tried to compensate with a few posts before the end of 2020, but I realized that this platform has changed.

I wasn't sure if the new changes to the interface and the templates were beneficial. Some of the features that I liked were gone. Maybe I was expecting a lot more from a Google product. But then again, the company is busy working on other things. I think they have neglected the people using this product.

After weeks of tinkering and studying, I have finally moved to another space in the interweb. I am still planning to migrate some of the old content into the new blog. I am excited to learning new things in the other platform and I hope you can visit and say hello.

Reading the Hyperion Cantos

During the Christmas season, I introduced my eldest son to a few science fiction novels to read over the holidays. I was hoping that the books would keep him offline for a few days.

I showed him a couple of Star Trek novels and Frank Herbert's Dune. But what got his attention was Dan Simmons' Hyperion series.

Experimenting New Old Things

With the start of a new year, I decided to rediscover some old hobbies that I used to do. There were activities that I have neglected because of things like work and family.

A few days ago, I made some watercolor paintings. I watched a video showing how to paint a galaxy spread using watercolor pencils. It provided step-by-step instructions, such as putting the right color on the paper and applying the correct brush strokes to achieve the correct blending of colors.

Welcome 2021

It has been ages since I last made a blog entry. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue writing here. A lot of things have happened over the past five years (not to mention the year of COVID) and I am not sure if it would be easier to just start over with a new blog.
