Just finished reading John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice (Book 2). The book takes off from where the action was in the
previous book. The Burning Bridge focuses on the war between Lord Morgarath and Kung Duncan. I loved the way Flanagan developed the characters of Will and Horace -- with their training and how they applied what they learned to help the battle.
I like the protagonists and how their actions helped shift the war to their favor. Like the previous book, I loved Flanagan's writing style -- the way he describe the battle and combat scenes. As a writer, Flanagan knew what he was talking about, describing each fighting action -- how Will fires an arrow and how Horace fights with his sword.
