Healthy Merienda Food Under 20 Bucks

I've spent years working here in Makati and I still find it difficult to buy healthy food that is less than 20 bucks. If you're in a tight budget, you're often forced to eat cheap junk food.

Do you have to shell out a lot of money just to eat a healthy merienda? Among the few healthy (and cheap) food products I discovered being sold in Makati are:

* Steamed corn (for around 12 to 15 pesos)
* banana bread being sold at a nearby bakery or 7-11 store (for around 10 to 18 pesos)
* banana or fruits at the nearby canteen/carinderia (unforutnately our canteen closes after lunch)

There really isn't that much option for cheap and healthy food here in the city. No wonder people choose to consume junk food since it is more available.
